Typical Interview Questions and Reminder

Aim:
1. Sharing on questions to be asked in an interview.
2. Remind myself on possible questions to be asked.
3. Assist in early preparation, mentally and physically.
Objective:
Pass the interview.
Procedures:
1. Submit your resume or CV to company you are interested in.
2. Wait for phone call from the company.
3. If no call received, kindly call up to the company to check on the status.
Tips:
  • Step 3 helps a lot as company will think that you are pro-active and thus giving you a chance for the interview, if you initially not being shortlisted.
Notes:
1. Get to know some basic thing on the company you are going to interview.
2. Reach the venue earlier.
3. Appropriate attire --> Formal
4. Ensure good appearance --> Comb your hair and etc.
5. Be polite.
6. Smile always.
7. Bring all your original certifications (if applicable).
Questions:
1. Introduce about yourself, ie: Name, College, Hobbies, Hometown, Family
2. What is your strength and weakness?
3. What is your greatest achievement?
4. What about your working experience?
5. Do you participate in co-curriculum? If yes, what pose you have and what you learn from there.
6. Why you choose auditing (example) as your career?
7. Why you choose to work in XYZ Company?
8. What is your career development plan?
9. Technical knowledge, ie: auditing standards and accounting standards, double entry & etc.
10. Anything that you would like to ask?
Tips:
  • If you have no working experience, pls answer it in a very smart way, ie: I would like to start my career in XYZ Company and I do belief that XYZ Co can equip me with the skills and knowledge. I am willing to learn and I hope XYZ can give me a chance to prove on my working abilities.
  • If you are interview for Big4, they might asked "what is the difference between other 3 firms with PwC (For instance) that makes you choose PwC?"
  • Ask something if you are being asked "anything to ask"... To give a good impression that you are REALLY interested to work in that company.

Some companies, especially MNC and listed company will be most likely to require you to sit for a test before proceeds to interview session. Attempt IQ test prior to interview will be an advantage to you.
